Kevin Tully, B.E.Mech.Eng. and Michael DiCicco, B.S.Mech.Eng. attended training on heavy truck air brakes and the latest technology in collision avoidance systems provided by Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC. The training provided a deep dive into the functionality of air brake systems which will allow SKE Forensic Consultants to identify deficiencies in a vehicle’s braking system, and more importantly understand how those deficiencies affect the braking performance of the vehicle. The latest technology in heavy trucks includes collision avoidance systems similar to those now included on passenger vehicles. These collision avoidance or collision alert systems store data in the event of a collision which is useful in reconstructing the accident.
